It’s time to move from confusion to CLARITY
The beauty of being your own CEO is the freedom to run the business you dreamed of, take a day off at the drop of a hat, and get your own ideas out there, not someone else’s. If your vocation is coach, writer or educator, chances are you’re a creative, strategic, free thinker – an ‘ideas’ person. The reward is seeing your ideas make a difference in the lives of others, be that transporting them to imaginary worlds or helping them get unstuck in their business or personal life.
The downside to working alone is … working alone! You have to wear 1,000 hats. Even if you’re creatively inclined, you have to figure out how to build a website, set up an email sequence and run your accounts.
The reality is: we can’t know everything. Why should you be able to craft a fictional world and craft marketing copy? Coach business owners to success and write an engaging sales page. Deliver an outstanding workshop and put together a compelling email campaign.
We all need help from time to time and the wise entrepreneur knows when to ask for it.
Let’s stop fooling ourselves we can do it all. Instead, let’s
invest where it matters!
You need to find your own voice
You’re never stuck for ideas. The problem is, you didn’t go to Marketing School so you’re not sure how to reach your audience and persuade them to pick you.
You’ve tried doing it all on your own. You’ve read all the blog posts, signed up for the free webinars, bought the books, and done the online courses. They all promised to give you the key missing ingredient to market your work. But you ended up getting lost in the weeds and just plain overwhelmed. I know how you feel, I’ve been there.
Some of the advice out there is excellent but the challenge is finding your own voice so you stand out in the crowd. Who wants to sound like every other writer, coach or educator?
That’s when you need some one-on-one time. The private Facebook groups, even the masterminds aren’t always enough.
I had been pondering some big-level questions about my writing business for some time: What was my purpose, how could I find my voice, what would guide my inner compass? Sarah offered me the insightful questions and coaching I needed to take a serious look at what I wanted to accomplish and gave me practical tips on how to get there. Knowing I was accountable to her was a powerful form of motivation to really dig deep and bring my work to the next level.

After working together to clarify Ruth’s key message and email copy, she settled on a name for her new online training offering, her webinars are being commissioned, and an influential organization is publishing her articles. In her words, “it’s beginning to snowball.”

Sarah helped me focus, not just in terms of my project, but overall as a writer. I went from “hmm, let’s try this…” to “here’s how I’m going to get from A to B.” She gave me the tools to plot my own course, which is already proving invaluable. Thanks, Sarah!
